Will my appliances work in St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles?
I need to know if I will need a special outlet adapter for my hair dryer, laptop, etc. while on vacation in St. Maarten. Thank you!

Before I went to Europe I bought a set of different extensions that you plug your stuff into, and then plug those in. Thier outlets are shapped different then ours.

No, they have the same.

Your "bathroom appliances" will work, no need for adapters...I've been there several times on the Dutch side and I never bought an adapter. If my wife's items weren't working I'm sure I would have been walking to a store ASAP..

What are places to work at in St. Louis when you are 15 years old?
My friend and I are looking for a summer job to make money. We are both 15 and we aren't looking for any fast food jobs or anything like that. We need ideas and help.

If you dont want fast food, I'd suggest the movie theater or babysitting.

If you are only 15, you would need a work permit if you want to work at places other than babysitting, dog walking, cutting grass, tutoring, etc. The malls sometimes hires at some of the clothes shops and Hallmark

Six Flags perhaps? This may seem obvious but don't resort to selling door to door. I have read horror stories about companies preying on kids.

When I am older I want to work at St.Jude.....?
I am 13 now, but I want to be prepared. I would like to work as a nurse or Child Life Specialist... i think thats what its called.... What do I need to do in college and what should i do to make sure I get the job? Do I need to know any subject realy well? Do I need to go to college in TN?

What types of nurses work in the ST.Jude's hospital?
I am a firm believer of planning ahead and I so much compassion and respect for those children there and I want to be a nurse someday and I thought about the ST. Jude's hospital so if you know please let me know and if they have counselors that come I would love to do that, I have counseling in my blood. Please let me know and I dont want to be some rinky dink nurse skipping down the hall way of the place I want a serious,stable job there

how do go about getting a work permit in st. louis missouri. i'm 15 and homeschooled?
i'm 15 and homeschooled so my supposed counseler is my mom. will jobs let me work there if I just have my mom like sign some where on the application or when I get a work permit does that mean that I don't need a schools permission to work.

Good question. I would think that you need a social security number for starters, and maybe a birth certificate.. Then you can "apply" for a job. I would think that either the manager there, or the application, can answer any of your questions. Good luck & welcome to the, "Rat Race".

About it convenient to live there and work in St. John's

Is Bell Island a nice place? Is it convenient to live there and work in St. John's?
Just by looking at the map Bell Island seems to be a pretty nice sized island so I am hoping (fingers crossed!) that property is not nearly as expensive there as in S. John's....Anyway, just looking for your thoughts, thanks I read that to ferry your car across only costs 2.50 if you are a commuter...

It is a nice place and the property values are lower. However, with the extreme winter weather, the ferry gets shut down quite often. That means, if it happens in the morning, you won't get to work. If it happens in the evening, you will have to spend the night at a hotel in St. John's.

My cousin lives in paradise looking at bell island. land and housing is cheap, roads are ALWAYS cleared (part of the town by-laws) and there is not as much risk of getting stuck without ferry service. But to answer your question, yes, it is entirely reasonable to do that.

It's very nice. I visit a few times every summer. the ferry ride is only 15-20 minutes and people who live there have first priority on the ferry coming off Bell Island but it's first come, first serve going back. You'll find that houses are A LOT cheaper then living in st.John's. Most people who work have to commute to St.John's so a lot of people there do it and It is very rare for a ferry not to be able to cross and in most situations if the ferry is not running the place you are working is probably going to be closed anyway.

Anything not in Sales. I do know that you could get a job in retail ie Target, Dierbergs, Hollister, Wet Seal, etc. But you can not do anything commission based until you turn 18 by law. There are a ton of stores looking for flexible Part time help! I worked at Hollister when I was 16, worked all the way through HS and Freshman year in College - there really work with you on your schedule! And you can always get extra hours if you need them! Hope this helps! just get out there and start applying! Around Sept stores are going to start looking for Christmas help, so it should be to hard! Good Luck! :)

Why don't you go on a fun, inexpensive shopping trip and pick up nice shower gels, soaps, lotions, cute clothes, cosmetics...basically anything that any female would like. Box it all up and mail it to your local women's shelter. You could also buy a package of unisex bar soap like Ivory and distribute it to homeless people in your town. Make sandwiches, bring along some bottled water, and feed the homeless! Or, save a life and donate blood! Oh, and donate your used toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shower gel, and soap)! I was thinking that you might want to check out Clean The World ( http://www.cleantheworld.org ) and perhaps send the remnants of your used toiletries to them via Central Care Mission. I'm a big fan of fun bath products, but any that don't suit my fancy, or the last bits of the soap bars, get sent to them to help prevent disease and death in Third World countries. hi this is Bala from India i will be receiving the work permit from st.Lucia in a month time if i go there in a tourist visa now after receiving the work permit should i return back to India or shall i continue there????????????

After you receive the work permit, you will need to obtain the visa from the US Embassy in your home country. It would be better for you to stay in your country until you receive the work permit because you will have to leave the US if you are there on a different kind of visa.
